I spent a some time in Lightroom tonight messing around with a simpler processing technique. It’s [very loosely] based on this tutorial by Matt Kloskowski and this video by Kirk Mastin.

Essentially, it involves getting exposure and levels right in the Lightroom 4 Basic panel and not screwing around with a bunch of unnecessary settings. But I liked the results enough to put some of them up here. I’ll put this gallery on the photographs page as well.

To my eye this gives the photos a more ‘pro’ look without being over saturated or textured or otherwise screwed around with. Not sure how well this translates to monochrome. I’ll have to experiment on that later.
