Today was the last day of the 2014 State Fair of Virginia so it was our last chance for horrible fried food, birthing cows, and avoiding eye contact with carnies.
We went in and went straight to the kid's rides and small animals. We were this close to buying a bunny.
We went by the old tractors — there were a lot of tractors.
I took this one for obvious reasons:
And I took this one because I'm still a child:
Then we went around and saw cows, goats, and giant pumpkins.
This is Lilly. And her calf Anna who was born at 8:00 pm Friday night. She's less than 40 hours old here:
Beatrix tried her hand at milking.
I couldn't decide which one of these to get for the back window of the new Honda...
We finished up the day, and the last of our ride tickets, with a carousel ride.
We had a great time. The State Fair is so much nicer since they relocated from the racetrack out to Caroline County. A proper state fair should be out in the country.
This has become one of my and Beatrix's favorite annual events.
